Peeing in Public

In the waiting area, I smiled at Rhea, then smiled at Rust. "Hi."

He smiled. "Hi."

I said, "That was pretty intense, huh?"

"If I didn't see it, I never would have believed it." His expression still gave nothing away.

"Are . . . we still on for what we talked about?" I said.

Rhea laughed. "Sloppy seconds, woo-hoo!"

I was mortified. "Oh my God, where's a bathroom?"

"I'm kidding," Rhea said.

"Even so, I should clean up better. And I need to pee."

"I hate to say it." She pointed back through the studio to a door on the far side.

"Great." The last thing I wanted to do was march past David and Mark. Twice.

"Skip it," Rhea said.

"Uh," I said, "what?"

"It's been a while, right?" she said. "You might not be so sloppy any more."

"It's not like I haven't cleaned up at all," I said. "That's actually what I was doing when that bitch pepper sprayed me."

"Hold on, wait!" Rhea said. "Someone pepper sprayed you?"

"Not in the face," I said. "But not for lack of trying."

Rust laughed. "You said it was because you were naked. You didn't mention diddling yourself on the sidewalk with a moist-towelette."

"I was not 'diddling myself on the sidewalk,'" I said. "I was in a convenience store, all right? One of those bodega places, you know? The guy behind the counter didn't care. Why should she?" Laughing along with them reminded me of another pressing issue. "I still need to pee."

Rust frowned in mock thought. "Don't you have a 'No Privacy' rule?"

"Come on!" I said. "That does not apply to bodily waste functions."

"It sounded pretty absolute when you were describing it," Rhea said.

My husband and I actually discussed this in the planning stages. There were measures I could take to minimize the chances of going number two, but there was no way I could go all day long without peeing. As it happens, there's a whole subgenre of porn devoted to peeing in public. My husband wasn't particularly into it, but argued that I should try it once, if only to leave no box unticked. When I came down firmly against it, he accepted my decision. I hoped I'd be able to stick to that, but doubts nagged at the back of my mind. Clothed people can dash into the nearest Starbucks or fast food joint when they need the privacy of a public restroom, but could a nude woman get away with that? All along, I've had a low-level anxiety that at some point, I would have to pee somewhere I didn't want to, where bystanders could see me. Maybe it was time to face that, and get it over with.

"All right," I said. "I'll do it. I'll pee in public."

Rhea and Rust exchanged astonished glances, then looked at me, and said in unison, "Really?"

"Sure, on two conditions. One, I want video, including bystander reactions."

Rhea held her phone up. "Here, while I'm thinking of it, let me scan you."
